In over 28 years of practice as a commercial trial

His First Amendment victories include McCollum v. CBS, et al., a leading case establishing a First Amendment defense to the wrongful death claim filed by the family of a teenager who committed suicide while listening to rock lyrics. Mr. O’Connor is a frequent speaker before Bar groups and continuing legal education seminars. He has been featured as an expert commentator in national publications including The Today Show and The New York Times. Mr. O’Connor consistently has been named as a Southern California "Super Lawyer" by Los Angeles Magazine, one of "Southern California's Best Lawyers" and has been honored by his peers in the specialties of Commercial Litigation and Entertainment Law as one of "The Best Lawyers in America." Mr. O’Connor was born in San Mateo, California, on September 28, 1954. He received his bachelor degree from the University of California, Berkeley and received his law degree from UCLA. Mr. O’Connor and his wife, Julianne, have three school‑aged children and are actively involved in a number of community and charitable organizations.
